Masquerade Gala Turns Bloody
What was meant to be a night of elegance and peace among rival bloodlines turned into a spiral of crimson chaos.
Eyewitnesses describe the scene as surreal: glass goblets clattering to stone, silk gowns torn in the scuffle, and at least three fledglings reduced to ash before midnight.
The masquerade, hosted by Count Drevan, was held in the opulent Crimson Ballroom—an ancient cathedral converted into a social nexus. All major covens were in attendance, including emissaries from the Sable Court and the lesser-known Hollowshade faction.
Security footage, now restricted by the Watch, captured a figure in a horned mask casting a mirror-glamour hex across the chandeliers. Moments later, chaos erupted as vampiric instincts overtook even elders.
“It was sabotage,” insists Lady Morwyn, who fled via mist-form. “We were lured into a trap.”
Three remain missing. The host has withdrawn into voluntary crypt-silence. Meanwhile, the Court of Shadows investigates connections to a rising sect known as the Blight Choir.
The masquerade's motto was: "Unmask, Unbite, Unite." Ironic, in hindsight.
